Welcome to the NHK – Vol. 1

Tatsuhiro Satō is 22, has dropped out of university and has barely left his flat in years. The culprit, he’s convinced, is a sinister conspiracy called the N.H.K. When the mysterious girl Misaki turns up and announces that she’s going to drag him out of his isolation, what begins is a portrait of loneliness, fear and self-deception that is as funny as it is bitterly honest.

Volume 1 contains episodes 1 to 6: Satō’s first encounters with Misaki, his reunion with his neighbour Yamazaki and the start of a not-very-well-thought-out plan to get his life back on track.
