Because of his blond hair, Kodaka Hasegawa is constantly mistaken for a thug and has no friends. That changes when sharp-tongued Yozora founds the “Neighbours Club” – a club whose sole purpose is to make friends. Soon more socially awkward members join, and chaos ensues.
Vol. 1 shows the founding of the club and its first new members, above all the self-assured Sena, with whom Yozora is instantly at loggerheads. Their first group activities make for plenty of cringeworthy moments.
